This page explains what personal information DT Plumbing and Building Ltd collects, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.

Who we are

DT Plumbing and Building Ltd is a plumbing and building company based in Crawley, West Sussex, covering Sussex, Surrey, South London and Kent. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17094744, VAT number 515 8660 77. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect, and when

We only collect what we need to quote for work, carry it out, and invoice for it. In practice that means:

• Your name, phone number and email address — so we can talk to you about the job.
• The address where the work is needed — so we can get there and quote accurately.
• Details of the job itself, including photographs of the work where they help us quote, order the right parts, or record what was done.
• Payment and invoicing records, which we are legally required to keep.

You give us all of this directly, when you call, message, email or speak to us. This website has no contact form. Every enquiry route on the site is a phone, WhatsApp or email link that opens your own app, so nothing is submitted to us through the website itself.

Why we are allowed to hold it

• To perform a contract with you — quoting, booking, carrying out and invoicing the work.
• To meet a legal obligation — keeping accounting and VAT records.
• Our legitimate interests — keeping a record of work carried out, in case of a warranty question or dispute later.

How long we keep it

Records relating to a job, including invoices, are kept for six years after the end of the relevant financial year. That is the period required for company and VAT records. Enquiries that never turn into work are deleted once they are clearly not going anywhere.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information to anyone, ever, and we do not pass it to third parties for marketing.

A limited number of others see it because they have to:

• Our accountant, for bookkeeping, VAT and company accounts.
• Our accounting software, where invoices and customer records are stored.
• Subcontracted trades — for example a qualified electrician — where part of your job needs a different trade. They receive only what they need to do that work: usually your name, address and access arrangements.
• Suppliers, where materials are delivered directly to your address.

This website

The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for security and reliability purposes.

Cookies. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, and there is nothing on this site that follows you around the internet afterwards.

Analytics. We do not currently run website analytics of any kind. If we add it, we will use a privacy-friendly, cookieless tool that counts visits and shows which pages are useful — it will not track individuals or build a profile of you — and we will update this page when we do.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, delete it where we are not legally required to keep it, or restrict what we do with it. Email info@dtplumbingandbuilding.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
